Functional Fitness train our muscles to work together and prepare them for daily tasks by simulating common movements based on real world situational biomechanics either at home, work or sports.
While using various muscles of the upper and lower body at the same time, Functional Fitness exercises also emphasize core stability. We believe multi-planar and multi-joint movements place a much needed demand on the body’s core musculature and innervation. Movements through every plane of motion are essential to any exercise regimen, as biologically we have evolved to move in multiple directions. These basic principles are applied to all of our classes and services.
Functional Fitness comes down to two specific concepts, adaptability and putting your fitness into practice in a real application. It’s great to be gym fit, to be able to perform pull-ups, endless sit-ups, and deadlift 400 pounds, but it’s also important to perform a multitude of everyday movements or tasks to the best of our ability while maintaining the correct posture.
