Sandra has been a fitness professional for over 10 years, certified by the American Council on Exercise (ACE), a certification held accredited by the Medical Fitness Association (MFA). Wellness comes naturally to her, a real life long passion leading her to study Fitness, Nutrition and multiple areas of general health and wellness for most of her adult life.
Upon getting licensed, she had a defined goal of starting her own company. She was offered a job at a health club in Bermuda and despite of it being a multi faceted position proportioning good experience in the field, she soon decided to take the career path she originally envisioned. Sandra founded Equilibrio Fitness soon after, and began then the fulfilling and rewarding career she craved and believed in, where fitness and nutrition can be taught and instructed on a personal level, where quality surpasses quantity.
Sandra has since then worked with hundreds of clients and families of different origins and ages, either on a One-on-One or Small Group training approach. She later developed a passion for Corporate Wellness. After getting specialized, she has had the privilege to work closely with some corporations in Bermuda at a professional and personal level. Sandra is also specialized in One-on-One Personal and Small Group Training, Wellness and Nutrition coaching, Ergonomics, Postural Rehabilitation, Sports Performance, Core Conditioning, Pre & Post Natal Fitness, High Intensity Interval Training and Functional Fitness. She is well known for her training style, which is not only fun filled, but also effective and goal focused. “It’s usually a love-hate relationship” as she says jokingly, “but full of mutual respect, encouragement and laughs”.
When asked about her children, she says that motherhood has been her best accomplishment yet. After having to return to work soon after her son was born, she recalls it as being a very overwhelming phase of her career as a new mom and business owner. She gave birth to her daughter 4 years later, and decided to take a longer break this time around to focus on motherhood. During this time Sandra faced health challenges of her own, and despite of some setbacks, she looks at it as enriching. “It redefined who I am as a professional and made me more diligent, while developing a deeper level of empathy towards the challenges of others. Above all, equipped me to help clients at a closer level.” She lives an active and family oriented life-style, where family and health come first.
